Checkout Supervisor [New Zealand]


 

Tamatea PAK'nSAVE is currently looking for a multi-tasking, customer focused Checkout Supervisor for a busy, front line role! Show us what you've got!


About the Role

This position involves supervising a large team in a very busy Checkout Department. You will be responsible for delivering an outstanding customer experience, which in turn will provide positive results for our business.


The primary role of the Checkout Floor Supervisor to supervise checkout staff on a day-to-day basis. You’ll assist the Checkout Manager to ensure a smooth front-line operation in the afternoons and evenings.

There are two permanent position working a minimum of 32 hours per week.


Please note, this is the minimum number of hours you will work each week. There are almost always extra shifts to pick up to cover for leave etc.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all legal obligations are met with regard to the sale of age-restricted products.
  • Keeping on top of customer flow and ensuring appropriate numbers of checkouts are open at all times.
  • Ensuring speedy resolution of price enquiry and other queries through effective liaison with all departments. Ensuring appropriate escalation of price scanning errors and returning customer complaint forms to the appropriate department.
  • Monitoring impulse bars and fridges and ensuring stock is correctly ticketed and priced. Monitoring stationery / bag levels to ensure sufficient levels are maintained.
  • Ensuring the checkout area is kept clean and tidy and all trolleys, baskets and credits are cleared away regularly to avoid clutter or potential hazards being created.
  • Assisting customers with the processing of their transactions in the self-scan area where required.


About You

We are looking for someone who has commitment and a positive attitude with loads of enthusiasm! We proudly serve 25,000 people per week through the checkouts, so this is a busy role!


Ideally, you will have been a successful supervisor or team leader in a retail environment before.

  • Ability to multi task and stay focused
  • You’ll be physically able, and reliability is key!!
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
